Fine Art Documentation

We specialize in high-end documentation of artworks for galleries, museums, collectors, and artists. Through technical precision and mastery of light, color, and visual nuance, we produce images that preserve the integrity, texture, and tone of each piece with exceptional accuracy.

Photography of Fine Art

Each work of art deserves to be captured with fidelity and care. We photograph paintings, sculptures, installations, and works on paper with archival-quality precision, meticulous lighting, and exceptional detail. Our approach ensures accurate color reproduction, tonal balance, and the nuanced capture of texture — whether for catalogues, exhibitions, or archives.

Approach

High Resolution Capture: We exclusively use medium format digital backs and cameras, primarily a Phase One IQ 150MP digital back with either a technical camera and Rodenstock lenses, or a Phase One XF camera with Schneider lenses. Depending on project requirements, we may also use Fuji or Hasselblad cameras with 100MP BSI CMOS sensors.

Lighting: We tailor the lighting setup specifically to the surface and medium of each artwork. In general we use Broncolor lighting with a range of modifiers to ensure precise control of color temperature.

Calibrated Image Processing and Digital Proofing: we carefully process each image to ensure colors, tones, and details faithfully match the original artwork. Digital proofs are provided for review and approval, guaranteeing consistency and accuracy across screens and devices.

Optimized File Delivery: we deliver final images in formats and resolutions tailored to each project’s specific requirements.
